Justin Farrelly……….Christmas
Extravaganza at Dublin’s Red Cow Inn
…one room under a Swedish groove; on stage;
the four members of Abba’s tribute band
Waterloo are working the magic moment for
everything they can. We had never imagined
Benny with a broad Dublin accent but right
now its working for us big time, the house
is rocking and the DJ doesn’t come on for
another half-hour.
…….As the last few holdouts surrender their seats to boogie on down, Waterloo lead singer Agneta (aka the divine Amanda Lane) finally asks the question we’ve all been waiting for: “Are there any Dancing Queens in the Audience tonight?” The most iconic piano swirl in the history of popular music kicks in and the room explodes. Which is pretty much where we all came in. All together, now:
“Friday night and the lights are low…”
