The Stage & Televison Today
by Barry Balmayne
I was very
impressed on my first visit to Rick's Garden
Cafe and Bar and the Lant Suite at the
Nailcote Hall Hotel , Restaurant and Country
Club in Berkswell, deep in the Warwickshire
countryside. The full events diary for Live
at the Hall has a terrific line-up of
quality shows, entertainers and musicians
who, along with excellent cuisine, affords
'House Full' notices on a regular basis.
I particularly
wanted to catch Streisand - The Tribute by
the gorgeous Tina Law Law's natural affinity
for cabaret provides the perfect platform to
pay tribute to a world-class superstar.
Experience, vocal talent and sheer
professionalism commanded the intimate
setting at the Hall and, superbly dressed in
white, her performance shone through from
entrance to exit.
Not seeking to
represent an impression, to take on a tribute
of the work of an artist like Streisand is a
very exacting task, but this extremely
talented Birmingham-based entertainer
produced it all - the light and shade, the
full depth and, perhaps most important of
all, the high and low moods in
interpretation of every number.
All the hits
were there in a superb 75 minutes, from The
Way We Were, Second Hand Rose, People, On A
Clear Day, For All We Know, each with the
perfect delivery they deserve.
Encore Magazine
by Mavis Cale.
Tina
Law looks and sounds every inch a Star,
being attractive, tall and elegant. She has
a great stage presence and looks uncannily
like Streisand - even that wonderful smile.
Above all
Tina has a marvellous voice which sounds
remarkably just like Barbra Streisand, this
in itself is a credit to Tina's musicianship
which is first class, with excellent
phrasing and delivery of song.

The Stage & Televison Today.
I
was once again impressed with the variety of
entertainment presented at the Gainsborough
House Hotel in Kidderminster. Tall, blonde
vocalist Tina Law made a very impressive
entrance in a shimmering silver and white
dress and, with Love Will Keep Us Together,
immediately set the scene as the very
essence of quality cabaret. The Way We Were
and an absolutely superb personal
arrangement of Getting To Know You,
qualified her experience and sheer
professionalism.
Her whole spot
was exceptionally warm and played fully to
her appreciative audience with individual
style and finesse. Her finale number Route
66 rounded off an excellent spot, and I can
say without hesitation that this was one of
the best and most polished acts I have seen
on any showcase. |
