The band continued as "The Stoned Angels" playing pubs and clubs in the local music scene around Chesterfield and Sheffield, playing to packed venues reminiscent of the early Rolling Stones work, with people standing on chairs to see the band, and people dancing in every available space. J.Black invited Steve Barker of Morningside Management to the Diamond gig in June. He liked what he saw and heard and agreed to take on the Band to promote them to the UK Theatre circuit.
 
J.Black then formally became the Manager of the band and established an exclusive agreement with Morningside Management for Theatre work. During the process of establishing the band as a professional outfit the current line up was established and the name changed to "The Stones".

On September 8th 2008, the band recorded a promotional DVD at The Princess Theatre in Cannock, which can be seen here on the web site. (DVD will be posted shortly)

"I can only agree with what has been said by others on here about The Stones, (I was going to say tribute band but unwarranted, I can remember back to the 60's and this band is on par if not BETTER than the originals. They say history repeats itself, it has in this instance, these are professional performers and a credit to the musical world. My only critical point is that the next tme they come here, us oldies may be displaced by younger fans who will realise what they are missing! I just feel very privileged that I have been able to see such a talented band. These lads even presented themselves in the foyer minutes after a great performance, it was great to see such professional people, Mick Jagger could probably pick up a few pointers from these lads!"
