Coloratura Soprano, Orla Colleton, is currently completing an MA in Vocal
Performance in DIT under Mary Brannan and Trudi Carberry, having previously
studied under Kathryn Smith. She also holds a BA (Hons) in Applied Music
with a specialisation in Solo Vocal Performance (DKIT) and a PG Diploma in
Music Education (Trinity).
Orla regularly performs at Weddings, Receptions, Corporate Functions,
Events and Concerts and her talents have seen her travel through out Ireland
and abroad to Belgium, Wales, Scotland, Germany, France and America. She has
also won many trophies, medals and awards at vocal competitions through out
Ireland. Although her main genre is operatic and classical styles, she also
performs easy listening, swing, musical theatre and Celtic / Traditional
genres.
No stranger to the stage, she has performed in many productions at home and
abroad including Cendrillon (Noemie - DIT Opera Ensemble), Wallace, Balfe
and Mr. Bunn (Maritana - Theatre Royal), The Gondoliers (Vittoria - NCH and
Buxton Opera House), Temptations (Gianetta,from L’eisir d’Amore - NCH),The
Turn of the Screw, (Governess),Street Scene (2nd Nursemaid) and Mese Mariana
(Carmela), all with IVM. She also performs regularly with Lyric Opera
Productions including La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor,
Norma, The Magic Flute and The Elixir of Love (NCH).
