Profile:

John Leahy is a singing pianist who will facilitate a sing-song at a corporate party, house party, or at a wedding (say instead of a band at a small wedding, or after the DJ (1-4am approx)). If you do then I am the man for you.

I would also be available for sherry receptions at weddings, where a pianist plays from approx 4-6pm while the guests stroll into the hotel.

I would also be willing to do a sherry reception and late gig in the one day.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

I have been performing solo and in groups since I was 18 eighteen years old. I have played in almost every public setting, both formal and informal. I have played in bars, hotels, shows, concerts, weddings (receptions and church ceremonies) and at funerals. I am equally at home whether I am playing from memory or from the page. I am an accomplished improviser, accompanist, sight-reader, and am a competent singer. I am also a piano/electronic keyboard teacher. 

EMPLOYMENT SUMMARY 

2008: Weekend gigs in Nick’s Restaurant, Killorglin, and Sheen Falls Hotel, Kenmare. 

2007: Resident pianist in Sheen Falls Hotel, Kenmare for summer season. (June-Aug) Gigs in the hotels of the Killarney region: The Brehon, The Malton, The Ahadoe Heights, The Killarney Park.

2002-2006, 2008: For six summer seasons (June-Aug) I have played for tourists in the Santa Ponsa holiday resort in Mallorca, Spain. 

2001-2005: Resident pianist in the Dunraven Arms hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick. 

2001: Resident pianist for the summer season (June-Sept) in the Marine Links Seafood Restaurant in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry.
