Profile:

Jaméire are a six piece reggae band hailing from Louth, Meath, Dublin and Mozambique. Expect to hear all the Bob Marley favourites and some of the lesser known gems when Jaméire take a trip through the early days of Ska with the likes of Simmer Down all the way to the later hits such as Could You Be Loved and Iron Lion Zion. The show mostly features the legend himself but don't be surprised to hear a few classics by the likes of Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Manu Chao, The Specials or a set of Skatellite style instrumentals. Jaméire made their debut as a three piece playing at a benefit night three years ago. Since then they've been all around Ireland from Kerry to Connemara and grown into a six piece band along the way. The members have all played in various different bands throughout the country and have now been brought together by a mutual love for the original Jamaican style of reggae. Fronting a reggae band was a natural progression for the lead singer/rhythm guitarist Dorian Bordalo with his background in Samba percussion and world music. Arriving in Navan from Mozambique via Portugal he decided to form the band after years of hearing "Hey Bob!" on the streets of Ireland.  Drums/Bass guitar/lead guitar/Keyboards and Trombone are provided by Sean Gerraghty, Wa'el Shabo, Derek Murphy, Fintan Crehan and Jim Clarke respectively. True to the original Jamaican reggae style, Jaméire are keeping Bob Marley's message of love, freedom and hope alive.
